BrightRidge presents 2025 Solar Schools Award to Washington County BOE

CIUDAD DE JOHNSON — BrightRidge presented a $82,248 contribution to the Washington County Board of Education at its Thursday night meeting, continuing BrightRidge’s commitment to Washington County schools through the Solar Schools Initiative.
This is the third year of Washington County Schools participation in the program, bringing the total contributions to date to $206,100. The latest award is the largest ever, reflecting increased production at the Martin Solar Farm.
A small portion of the savings generated by the Martin Solar Farm funds the Solar Schools program through a community solar agreement.
“We believe in supporting the future of our region through investment in public education, and this program provides valuable resources for students and educators alike,” BrightRidge Chief Executive Officer Jeff Dykes said. “We’re honored to continue this partnership and thank the Washington County Board of Education for leading the way in demonstrating the efficiency and return on community solar projects.”
The Martin Solar Farm, producing 9 megawatts (MW) of energy in partnership with Nashville-based Silicon Ranch Corp., operates under a purchase power agreement that saves all BrightRidge Electric customers more than $700,000 annually.
The Solar Schools Initiative is designed to support local educational programs by providing funds to enhance learning opportunities across the district, while demonstrating the superior efficiency of community solar projects.
