CIUDAD DE JOHNSON — Early damage and recovery costs for Hurricane Helene exceed $1 million dollars and rising, BrightRidge directors learned at their regular board meeting Tuesday. At the height of the storm, more than 33,000 of BrightRidge’s 83,000 electric customers were without power.
CIUDAD DE JOHNSON – BrightRidge and Pike Electric completed the third crossing of the Nolichucky River at Taylor Bridge on Friday night, restoring 120 remaining outages on the electric system a day ahead of schedule. “All the homes in the area that can accept power are now energized,” BrightRidge CEO Jeff Dykes said.

CIUDAD DE JOHNSON – BrightRidge electric construction crews will be completing final work late Monday on support structures necessary to allow sag in longer conductor lines needed to cross the Hurricane Helene-widened Nolichucky River channel at Bailey Bridge in southern Washington County.
CIUDAD DE JOHNSON – In response to the flooding severely impacting Northeast Tennessee and the region, BrightRidge is donating $150,000 to support small businesses through Region AHEAD, a non-profit fundraising organization dedicated to assisting small businesses in times of crisis.
