Recovery costs exceed $1 million at BrightRidge; focus on serving customers

CIUDAD DE JOHNSON — Early damage and recovery costs for Hurricane Helene exceed $1 million dollars and rising, BrightRidge directors learned at their regular board meeting Tuesday. At the height of the storm, more than 33,000 of BrightRidge’s 83,000 electric customers were without power.

BrightRidge completes Taylor Bridge crossing a day ahead of schedule; wifi available at South Central Elementary

CIUDAD DE JOHNSON – BrightRidge and Pike Electric completed the third crossing of the Nolichucky River at Taylor Bridge on Friday night, restoring 120 remaining outages on the electric system a day ahead of schedule. “All the homes in the area that can accept power are now energized,” BrightRidge CEO Jeff Dykes said.
