Motorists should expect rolling roadblocks due to utility work on Sunday and Tuesday
JOHNSON CITY – BrightRidge will be pulling static wire across Interstate 26 near University Parkway on Sunday, June 14 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. as well as conductor wire on Tuesday, June 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on TN Highway 36/North Roan Street near the intersection with West Oakland Avenue.
Both projects will require rolling roadblocks and lane closures, with traffic flow alteration expected on all travel lanes. A rolling roadblock modifies traffic flow by deploying professional lead cars as a means of temporarily delaying or stopping traffic, allowing wire to be strung without risk to motorists.
As a result, motorists should seek alternative routes, be prepared for traffic delays on I-26 on Sunday and on North Roan Street on Tuesday, using the utmost caution if work zones cannot be avoided.
