Motorists should avoid travel unless essential at least until the storms blow through as expected by forecaster later this afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are numerous reports of downed trees and lines, as well as blown yard items and debris. If you are traveling, please be alert to the many potential hazards, including localized heavy flooding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In response, BrightRidge has deployed all available crews and contractors.<br>As always, BrightRidge warns customers to never attempt to touch, handle or move downed power lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead, immediately contact BrightRidge through the <a href=\"https:\/\/brightridge.smarthub.coop\/ui\/#\/login\">SmartHub<\/a> mobile and desktop application or phone BrightRidge at 423-952-5000 if you spot infrastructure damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also, persons who have medical device charging considerations should secure additional batteries or develop alternative device charging plans as restoration times cannot be guaranteed in widespread events such as Tropical Storm Helene.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-98270934\">\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-412fbb2e\">\n\n<h3 class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-a924cc47 gb-headline-text\">About BrightRidge<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">BrightRidge is a publicly owned electric utility serving 83,671 customers in Washington, Sullivan, Carter and Greene counties.
