Schedule a Planned Outage
BrightRidge will disconnect and reconnect service for commercial/industrial customers as requested for scanning, equipment cleaning, electrical tests, maintenance, and the like. If you are a commercial or industrial customer, you may schedule this service by calling the Control Room at (423) 952-5011.
There is typically no charge for this service if the request for disconnect/reconnect is made during regular business hours, Monday – Friday, 8am to 4pm. If the request for disconnect/reconnect is made during NON-business hours, you will be charged. Contact a Key Account Representative at (423) 952-5142 for after-hours estimates.
Depending on the work being performed, an electric permit and inspection may be required. You will need to allow a minimum of a 48 hour notice. Work scheduled is a first come first serve basis with limited availability.
Emergency Situations
If the work is an emergency, which may require repairs or modification, an electrical permit WOULD be required. Emergency permits should be picked up at either the Johnson City – City Hall or County Inspector’s Office.

If an emergency electrical permit is needed beyond Johnson City – City Hall regular business hours, an emergency permit may be picked up anytime at the BrightRidge office located at 2600 Boones Creek, Shipping & Receiving Entrance at the after-hours station.
